Week 3: Working & Studying

 13 July - 17 July 2026

Entering the third week of my internship, the real challenge of balancing my role as an educator while pursuing my studies became increasingly evident. This week highlighted the importance of maintaining equilibrium between my responsibilities as a lecturer at TVETMARA Jasin and my commitments as a practicum student fulfilling the academic requirements of the university. Effective time management, self-discipline, and a high level of commitment were essential to ensure that both responsibilities could be carried out successfully.

Throughout the week, teaching and learning sessions were conducted according to the established schedule. As an Islamic Education Lecturer under the Department of General Studies, I was responsible for ensuring that each lesson was delivered in a well-planned and effective manner so that the learning objectives could be achieved. At the same time, practicum-related tasks such as report preparation, documentation, daily reflections, and discussions with my academic supervisor required serious attention and dedication.

Although my daily schedule was quite demanding, managing these dual roles provided me with a highly meaningful learning experience. I began to appreciate the importance of planning daily activities in a more systematic manner to ensure that all tasks were completed within the required timeframe. In addition, I had the opportunity to enhance my communication, organizational, and leadership skills through interactions with students, colleagues, and the institution's management team.

One of the greatest challenges during this month was balancing professional responsibilities with academic commitments. My appointment as the Coordinator for the Spiritual and Surau Committee, the Green Technology Committee, and the MAKEP 26 Committee, in addition to several other subcommittees, significantly tested my ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Furthermore, at the beginning of the semester, the Spiritual and Surau Committee was entrusted with coordinating the Himpunan Perdana and Maulidur Rasul Celebration at the TVETMARA Jasin level, requiring me to develop strategic plans and coordinate tasks effectively with my team members.

Nevertheless, these challenges were successfully managed through careful planning, support from colleagues, and strong self-motivation to fulfill every responsibility entrusted to me. This experience taught me to be more patient, resilient, and optimistic when facing work pressures and academic demands simultaneously.

Overall, the third week of my internship provided a highly valuable experience in shaping my professional competencies and personal character as an educator. Despite the various challenges encountered, the experience of “working and studying” became a meaningful learning process that matured my perspective and increased my confidence in handling greater responsibilities in the future.

Reflection of Week 3

"Being busy is not an obstacle to success; rather, it is a training ground that nurtures discipline, resilience, and responsibility. This week taught me that successfully balancing work and study requires sacrifice, effective time management, and continuous determination."
